"This is great hot jazz fro mthe early 20's. The Original Memphis Five was jsut about the only band in the ealry 20's that could really swing. This isn't the "popular" music of the roarin' 20's, this is the "hot jazz" of the roarin' 20's. If you thought swing started in 1935 with Benny Goodman, try this CD. None of the music sounds dated, and the recording sound quality is surpisingly wonderful. Some of the highlights include joyous versions of "Sister Kate" "My Honey's Lovin' Arms" and "Chicago"(yes, the same song associated with Sinatra) This is an essential CD for any traditional jazz and dixieland collector."
