Great Voices except countertenor

"This CD is not available any longer but I found it in a dollar store. Overall, the performance is outstanding but there are two negatives forcing me to rate it at 4 stars. First, the countertenor has a very weak sound, especially compared with the rest of the soloists. Second the great aria "The Trumpets shall Sound" has imbalanced sound and the trumpet part is barely audible. Naturally, with the legendary Antal Dorati, the conducting is superb. The orchestra is not first class but more than adequate for this music. And the other soloists are all magnificent. There are two choral ensembles and they make a great sound together. If your dollar store has this CD, grab it. You can probably find it with other Christmas music."
