Their Sound is Gone Out--Hallelujah!

"When the Christmas season arrives, and Debbie is decorating our home and I am decorating the tree, it helps to have that festive mood from the time we open the boxes of decorations, to opening the Christmas presents, to when guests are served copious amounts of food and holiday cheer by candlelight. These are what memories are made of. Setting this mood should be a wonderful complement of music that can make you feel like you are in a beautiful church listening to a choir, only it's from the pleasure and comfort of your own home.
That's where Sir Georg Solti and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Chorus come in with Handel's Messiah. The beautiful Kiri Te Kanawa brings a soprano voice so rich that it sounds like an echo from the heavens. Keith Lewis, a tenor, and Anne Gjevang, an alto, add their voices in tribute to George Frideric Handel.
This is especially comforting after you've heard "Grandma got run over by a reindeer" or "Santa Baby" for the nineteenth time, and it isn't even December 1st! I highly recommend this for your Christmas collection, especially if you enjoy the childlike mystique of Christmas, and revel in setting an atmosphere that makes guests and family return every year, while they commiserate and compare this time with the nostalgia of celebrations past.
Share the joy and have a very Merry Christmas! Hallelujah.
