"The Only Easy Day Was Yesterday is a great disc. My only complaint would be that its an EP instead of a full album. The band delivers that edgy Hard Rock their known for, with the same intensity as when they first started. All in all a great listen!"
12 Stones delivers their best songs yet

"12 Stones has always been a band I think would be a great "EP" band. Their CD's have some excellent tunes on them, but unfortunately there's a lot of filler and forgettable material on their albums as well. With an EP, I feel they would have the time to deliver some quality tracks without the filler. And I was right. "The Only Easy Day was Yesterday" is an EP that in my opinion, does not have a weak song on it. All the songs I can go back and listen to, and I don't skip anything either.
1. Welcome to the End
12 Stones start the new EP out on a heavy note. Although this song lacks an opening riff, it bursts right into the building verse before bursting onto the melodic chorus. Riffs are scattered all throughout the song and the bridge is possibly the most heavy thing this band has ever created. A couple well placed screams help refine the heaviness and power of this song. Very good.
9.5/10
2. We Are One
I've kind of worn this song out since hearing it back in April, but it's still a great track. This song is good, old fashioned hard rock in it's best form. The chorus quickly sticks in your head as the anthemic verses keep you on your toes. My only complaint would be that the bridge doesn't really add much to the song and is forgettable. It just kind of gets lost in the track.
8.5/10
3. Disappear
This one's a solid rocker. A little softer than the previous 2 tracks, but it's still a good song. The verses are tense and the choruses are good and melodic. The main riff is very good, and the lyrics in this song are really good too. I found myself humming this one subconsciously. The bridge is a nice touch, and Paul sings the first part of the chorus softly before bursting into the final part.
9.5/10
4. Tomorrow Comes Today
The album's lone ballad starts out with a quiet guitar loop, before heading into the emotional and soft verses, before the guitars come in and help push the chorus to its best. Paul's vocal work is very impressive on this song, making a worthy ballad to add to my collection of fantastic ballads.
9.0/10
5. Enemy
This song is quickly turning into my favorite song on the EP. It starts off with a guitar intro that sounds very much like Papa Roach's Blood Brothers before bursting into a heavy riff and the angry verses. The chorus is my favorite of the album, and this song has more well placed screams in it. The bridge is nice and heavy with some excellent drum work. Best song on the EP.

Great Disc Despite Being Only 5 Songs

"Being a 12 Stones fan since the early days, I was highly anticipating the release of "The Only Easy Day Was Yesterday." Like everyone else, I was dissappointed to find the 4th album was only 5 tracks, but they are 5 solid tracks.
"Welcome to the End" is a great start to the disc with a very classic 12 Stones sound and a great drive through the entire song. Of course the addition of some well placed screams is great too. "We Are One," is a great tribute to our nation's military. Sadly, this is probably my least favorite song on the disc, not a bad song, just not as good as the rest. "Disappear" is probably my favorite song on the disc. The guitar sound reminds be of Breaking Benjamin, but the vocals stay true to Paul's style. You can definitely hear Justin's heavier influence on this track. To me the drums sound a bit more crisp, and the gong bass drum hits will wake up your subwoofer a bit. "Tomorrow Comes Today" is a great ballad. The guitar parts seem be a bit repetative, but the song is still very catchy and has a very powerful ending. "Enemy" is a great end to the disc leaving you wanting more. The song has a very edgy sound, again with some well placed screams. The verses sound a bit busy musically to me, mainly with the drum part. The bridge near the end of the track makes up for it though.
Overall, the EP is a great release with a classic 12 Stones sound that I will enjoy listening to for a long time. Hopefully we will see the rest of the full length album in the not-so-distant future. If you are a first time listener, or a long time fan, make sure to check out 12 Stones live, as you will not leave dissappointed!!"
