"History is an actually great greatest hits collection. I've listened to quite a few of America's albums and their other collections that have been released over the years, and I think this is as good as it gets for them. I feel a little guilty about "Muskrat Love," but I usually just sing along anyway--I can't help it. The rest of it is a guilt-free pleasure for me. If you are looking to add some America to your life and listening, you can't go wrong with this."

"Very strong compilation of many of the greats. nitpickin about over representation of this or that artist , but if looking for that cut or an overview killer stuff. At best 3 disks a mere taste that hopefully drives the listener to exploring specifics. A bit of 1920's and fifties, but meat is 30's and 40's .Worth noting no Louis Armstrong , 5 Duke Ellington Consider the Ken Burns 6 disk collection to compliment and have a true overview....then get 10 or twelve hours of Ella & Louis hot 5/7 and groove"

"A great album of Foreigners hits. As a Foreigner fan who recently saw them on their most recent tour - I can recommend this CD.
However, there are two songs that are poorly mastered on this album.
These two songs simply are not up to par with the rest of the CD.

"Issued as part of a Reflections relaxation-music series which included "Latin"-themed recordings such as "Salsa", "Ranchera", "Mariachi", Merengue, "A Cantar!" and "Bachata". This entry is "Guitarra".
The first track features percussion, but the overall feel here is of gentle, romantic music which would go along very nicely with a special dinner. The guitars played here are nylon-string instruments and most of the pieces are entirely for solo guitar, or for two guitars.

"Ron Sexsmith is an amazing singer and songwriter, and Other Songs is an excellent album. The best endorsement I can give is to share how, the first time I heard him, he was the opener for someone who ended up being sick and couldn't perform. He became the headliner, and though he was unknown to me, once he started singing I was not disappointed at all. Two of my favorite songs here are "Strawberry Blonde" (one of the best story songs ever) and "Honest Mistake," but I love it all. I really appreciate how clearly he sings--all the better for hearing his fantastic lyrics. I don't understand how he isn't a household name; you can help correct this injustice by listening to him in your home!"

"Wonderful music! I enjoy every track. This CD remains near my six-CD player so I can throw it in there with some other favorites. I also put it on a thumb drive full of jazz and blues so I can listen in my car. CD players in cars have disappeared, and I'm not going to drain my phone data again with a Blu-ray connection. I used to have a used Toyota Prius with a six-CD player, but those are long gone now. The music is selected randomly, so this one stands out when it comes on."

""In 1972, when [Disney] Entertainment Vice-President Bob Jani suggested that music from"Fantasia" should accompany the new parade of lights for Disneyland, Producer Jack Wagner was surprised. Jack thought that something electronic, rather than orchestral, should accompany the unique parade. He asked Bob for 48 hours to prove his point. His instinct proved to be the spark that ultimately brought to life the unique musical sound that has become world renowned as Disney's Electrical Parade.
As Jack played tune after tune..his hopes were fading fast. Every selection was made up of electronic bleeps, twangs, far-out sounds and humorous-sounding tape loops. Nothing captured the truly magical spirit of the light parade. Once Jack heard "Baroque Hoedown" [by Jean-Jacques Perrey and Gershon Kingsley (1967)], within seconds he knew he had found the missing musical key to the parade.
A quick search of Los Angeles-based musicians turned up synthesizer programmer Paul Beaver, considered "the only guy" for synth work in Hollywood in 1972. Paul programmed the electronic sounds and two demo tracks were completed: a short patriotic medley and the original "Baroque Hoedown" recording with a synth bass line added. Bob Jani heard the latter and was thrilled.
The unique musical sound of Disney's Electrical Parade has remained timeless for three-and-a-half decades and has been heard by over 100 million people worldwide."
