Live recording from Roky & The Aliens

"The marketing for this recording incorrectly states that this is a 13th Floor Elevators recording--it is not. All of the songs were written during Roky Erickson's "Aliens" days, none were done with the Elevators. This is a live recording, probably done at a club, when Roky was with the Aliens. If the radio spot, track #4, is an ad for this performance, then it was done at the Whiskey A-Go-Go in LA in 1980 or 1981. The recording quality is good. The Interview is excellent and Roky discusses some of his songs. It also shows just how wacked-out Roky was at that time with his fears of gremlins, demons, the devil and other supernatural beliefs. Roky collectors will want this, but newbies should start with Gremlins Have Pictures or The Roky Erickson Anthology.
