"This record brought me back somewhat to the mid-90s techno/industrial explosion. Think some Nine Inch Nails, KMFDM, Crystal Method, Filter etc.... no shortage of those groups. Since this is an album of remixes, I did expect originality to be cashed in for hard-hitting beats and clubby effects which turns out to be the case. Good arrangements, not a great deal of originality or continuity. Basically each influence has a turn.
However, there are two tracks of note that really surprised me in a good way -
Alkali (Left Spine Down remix) - A moody brew of lush synths over a steady groove anchored by a strongly picked electric bass - good chillout track
Blackbird (The Gunnery Remix) - A hard-hitting anthemic power-rock song which should be the theme song to the next movie about a guy pushing himself to overcome insurmountable odds.... at 3:18, too short.
Otherwise, I would say this is a solid but forgettable record."
