""Strength..." opens with simple guitar picking and suddenly explodes into a flying metal frenzy that instantly knocks you off your feet as the aptly titled "Break The Chains" does just that...not only on this great LP, but also in your mind. What follows is a non-stop barrage of great tunes addressing racial profiling, police brutality (the Bludgeoning "Crime Story")the loss of your soul in Hell ("Judgement Day")even "can't we all just get along?" sentiments set to bottom-heavy reggae ("Understanding")all delivered with the gusto, speed and virtuosity of 20 bands. While their chops are more polished than Bad Brains, their lyrics are less evocative than Living Colours' and they lack the bizarro, genius qualities of Fishbone, yet came with loads of metallic, brutal riffing, 24/7 Spyz were a promising, powerful band that the whole music world slept on, and they missed out big time. Hard to find (I still have my original cassette copy from 1992) but worth searching for, "Strength In Numbers" is a terrific release that somehow came and disappeared before getting the attention it truly deserved. A Lost Classic."
