Product DescriptionMax Reger (1873-1916) composed his three cello suites in Meiningen in 1914. His work, oriented toward polyphony and capable of both the most tender sensitivity and extroverted roughness, embodies the post-Romantic disruption characteristic of the early 20th century. Cellist Adalbert Skocic descends from an old Austrian family of musicians, and was a member of the Vienna Philharmonic for decades. He retired from the orchestra to dedicate himself to his solo career, and to teaching. He recorded these suites in January 2009.
