"This is a lively and enjoyable box set of the incredibly prolific songwriting talent of Marco Antonio Solis early in his career. 26 of the 30 songs were written by him. Though not in the same style, and not in the same league as his latest CD, "Trozos de mi Alma", it's still good music, and always fascinating to hear an artist in different stages of their creativity. Some of the tracks are bouncy, uplifting, estilo tropical tunes that will get you dancing, like "Que las Mantenga el Gobierno" and "Poquito a Poco", blended in with romantic baladas like "Inalcanzable" and "Acepto mi Derrota". The lyrics are lovely and sung with a lot of heart by Marco Antonio with his unique and appealing voice. It doesn't list who is singing "Cuando tu Cariño" and "Quieres ser mi Amante" on disc # 2. Of the 4 titles not written by Marco Antonio, mention must be made of Manolo Marroquin's "Por Amor a mi Pueblo". A gorgeous song, and beautifully performed. You get an hour and 10 minutes of mostly excellent music in this 3 disc set, the insert includes a title/composer/time list, and it comes in a jewel case with front and back openings....and if you like Solis, get the lush and wonderful "Trozos de mi Alma". It's a work of art you are sure to love."
