Great solist and orchestra

"I spent almost 8 hours comparing different versions of the 4 seasons on this site including the highly acclaimed Biondi's or Neville Mariner'.... and was surprised that the one I chose is this budget version. I did not know Jaime Laredo before listening to this recording. From the beginning I knew exactly for each movement the tempo & inflexions I wanted to hear for the solist as well as the orchestra : some versions are too fast, slow, boring or executed with great technique yet without passion but this one has it all right."

The sound of Jaime Laredo's violin is as warm and beautiful as ever, and his interpretation of the work is very absorbing. No matter what sound you may like in recent interpretations of old classical masterpieces, there is no denying that the version at hand has dynamic professionalism gallore. An excellent album!"
