54 Seconds' album "Coma" is smooth and trippy into the territory of Radiohead meets shoegazer minus the heavy distortion. Lullabye-esque melodies drift by through drowsy guitar work and languid piano while soft vocals speak sometimes surprisingly cynical and edgy lyrics you might encounter on a metal release. Lulling and drifty, 54 Seconds' music is incredibly well-produced and mixed for an indie artist - you wouldn't be able to differentiate this from a "mainstream" band of the same variety in terms of sound quality or songwriting. "Coma" is a spacey journey through the introspective and sometimes depressive quadrants of the mind. Poetic thoughtfulness imbues both the music and the lyrical content, revealing the heart of a dedicated artist behind the music.
