I never realized they were this great!

"I used to promote small concerts in the Detroit area back when these guys were beginning. Although known as a Chicago band, they first started in Detroit and then moved to Chicago later.
I put them on my An*l C*nt shows and they were great. However at the time, they had no product. They were just total extreme noisecore.
I had a big surprise when I saw on Amazon that a member of 7000 Dying Rats was a member of Cattle Decapitation. Then I was more surprised to find CD listings for 7000 Dying Rats. I immediately got the other "Fanning the Flames..." and was impressed that they were even better and entertaining than I had remembered over a decade ago.
I enjoyed that one so much that I immediately ordered this one. This one is even better than "Fanning...".
The 7000 Dying Rats mix in many different types of music and incorporate it into their main grindcore style. This is not the typical gag of a band playing one style and then interrupting it with their own style. The 7000 Dying Rats actually incorporate the different styles into the grindcore. And in very entertaining and comedic ways. They even manage to make techno music sound interesting so much so that I would actually buy my first techno music if there was any that sounded the way the Rats made it sound.
I also enjoy the extreme focus on comedic aspects to the 7000 Dying Rats. Who wants to hear yet another "I'm more Satanic than everyone one else" attitude?
These guys have a perfect balance of inane and witty humor.
What's best about the Dying Rats is that not only are they different from other bands, they are different from song to song. There is a common thread of humor going through but you musically get something different all the way through the album.
To compare to other bands, they are most like A.C. which is another favorite of mine. However the differences are many. They incorporate many different styles into the grindcore and the humor isn't so fully focused on silly offensiveness and "'X...' is gay" as A.C. is.
If this sounds good to you, please check them out.
Fans of A.C. or Blood Duster should really like this album."

"Dude, no one writes better song titles than them. Come on man, you can't deny the overwhelming power these songs wield over your soul and eyes."
