Synopsis

Album Description

Digitally remastered and expanded two CD edition of the Norwegian trio's 1985 debut album, released to coincide with the band's farewell tour and the album's 25th Anniversary. A-Ha may have seemed to come out of nowhere when they released the worldwide hit 'Take On Me' in '85, but the band's roots stretched back to the early '80s. While the trio was unable to maintain a high profile in the U.S., they continued to record, tour and score hits for over two decades in Europe and Asia. While the band will take their final bow in 2010, their musical legacy will continue long after that last note has long faded away. Disc One features the original album plus four additional tracks including remixes and the original 1984 version of 'Take On Me'. Disc Two contains 23 rare tracks including demos, early recordings and so much more. Rhino UK.

"This is worth buying for all those "die hard" a-ha fans. I'll admit to it I am one of those fans. having said that, I was looking forward to this release I equired this at a different place but I feel I have to make my statement about it. There are Jems on here for all to hear Demo's, bsides,versions never heard etc. Not going to give to much away I'll just say you'll be surprised by this set. I give this 5 stars."

"What a great re-release of Hunting High and Low. Such great memories. I finally got back some of the old songs I was missing in extended format. The Sun Always Shines on T.V. is a pleasant surprise as it is a different extended mix than I already had. I was surprised they didn't include the extended version of Take On Me, but that is pretty readily available elswhere so no big deal. I almost forgot how wonderful the extended version of Hunting High and Low is! The demos are pretty cool too and interesting to listen to. All in all a great addition to my A-ha collection. Now just "25" remains. Sorry to see them break up but it has been a tremendous run and I have enjoyed them for 25 long years!!"
