CD ReviewsRock, Pop, Rhythm & Soul AT ITS BEST! Kben | Cleveland, OH | 08/03/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "A.J. Croce's career has crossed many different genres and boundries from the sweet New Orleans Flavored Blues & Soul of his debut (think Dr. John, Randy Newman & Tom Waits) to 2001's overly-produced (but good) Transit. His latest, "Adrian James Croce" comes as close to near-perfect pop/rock as any other release this year. This album and nearly every song is outstanding and incredibly well produced and mixed. A.J's compositions are comparable to the best music that Difford & Tillbrook (of Squeeze) ever produced (and that's a major compliment!). If you're looking for something new and great to listen to, but are sick of the over-produced pop/rock of Maroon 5, et al., give A.J's latest a try! You won't be sorry!" My first exposure to this artist and not my last.... R. Kyle | USA | 05/26/2005 (4 out of 5 stars) "I expected more of the jazz/blues/funk used to describe AJ Croce's work, but I still was not disappointed by this CD. I'm ordering the CDs other AJ Croce afficionadoes have suggested. "Seedings" may not fare so well after I have other work to compare to, but I am going to enter a favorable review for this first exposure. " A.J. attacks the mainstream S. Johnson | Gainesville, VA United States | 02/19/2005 (4 out of 5 stars) "The album is great; think Ben Folds meets The Beatles. Past efforts have been serious piano jazz; this album has catchy songs that stick in your head long after the CD is done. "Upside Down" has a nice lyrical hook reminiscent of Ben Folds Five with Beatles-like chord changes. It's a new favorite for me."
