Leviathan: Ballads and Songs of the Whaling Trade

(4 out of 5 stars)
"This would probably be a more popular album if Amazon called it by its correct title. It won't appeal to the average Wailers fan. However, if your interest is in authentic folk music - particularly music of the sea, such as Jack Aubrey might hear from the foremast jacks of a Saturday night - then you will find a treasure in A.L. Lloyd, and in this album. To be fair I must admit that his album Blow Boys Blow is marginally superior, so I give this one four stars instead of five; but if you like "Blow" then I strongly recommend "Leviathan.""
