Abgott first spawned in Italy, with the recording of a demo tape titled "Celtic Metal Battle" in 1997. By 2001 they had released their self-financed, eponymous debut. An unconventional and experimental concept Black Metal album, "Fizala" followed in 2003. Good responses from the European scene landed them a release of this album in the USA a year later. They continued to pay their dues on the road, supporting the likes of Dark Funeral, Enslaved, Marduk, Napalm Death, Destruction and Behemoth on the "Demigod Tour" of 2005.
