By 1977 AC/DC were barely having a night off! Following just a few days respite in Sydney for 1976's Christmas and New Year period, having only stopped performing a week before on 23rd December while on their 'Giant Dose of Rock 'N' Roll Australia Tour', they resumed their gigs on 2nd January in their hometown. They continued in Australia until the middle of February, playing almost nightly, then travelled to the UK - at the time home to their second biggest audience - to resume their 'Dirty Deeds' Tour in Britain. Playing 28 nights on the trot, starting in Edinburgh on the 18th Feb - just 3 days after their final gig down under - and finishing at the Croydon Greyhound (a satellite town 10 miles out of London) on the 20th, plus another couple of shows right at the end of the month, the group's next venture was a support slot on a Black Sabbath tour of Europe that continued until the late spring. A month or so back in London and Australia, where a few club dates were performed, was followed by the boy's first ever tour of the USA. The 'Let There Be Rock US Summer Tour' found AC/DC playing support to many higher profile rock groups and began in Austin, Texas' capital city, on 27th July '77 at the bizarrely named 'Armadillo World Headquarters', a music venue since 1970. Supporting the popular-at-the-time-but-ever-forgettable Canadian rockers Moxy, in front of an audience of 1,500, it was just the kind of exposure 'DC were hoping for. The tour went on until 7th September by which time the group had performed in eight states, mostly in the South and Mid-West plus a couple of gigs-a-piece in LA, San Francisco and New York. On the 22nd August they played at Cleveland, Ohio's famous venue the Agora Ballroom (their third visit to the venue on the same tour) supporting Mink Deville. The show, in front of an estimated 2,000 people, was a triumph and the whole shebang was broadcast across local FM radio - the results of which can be heard on this superb CD.
