Great New Single From Swedish Masters
11/18/1999
(5 out of 5 stars)
"Great pop single released across Europe to heat up things and get Ace of Base ready for the release of their greatest hits album. It's a catchy song, with must-hum-along-to harmony, strong but clear and sweet voices of two sisterss. Once again there seems to be mowtown-feel to it, but at the same time it's very recognizibly an AceOfBase sound of early 90's. Ace of Base just keep getting better, keep up with them, get "C'est La Vie (Always 21)""
Very Good!

"Again, this CD single, Like many shows Ace of Base at their best. This song is a release for their Greatest Hits Album. There is two version of the greatest hits albums, the US version, which is called "Ace of base: The Greatest Hits" and the UK version called "Singles of the 90's" Both Albums feature C'est la Vie, as a new song, but the UK is the only place to see, and hear of the video. There is five track in all:1. C'est La Vie (always 21) radio version-Very much like the album version.2. Megamix (Short Version) features an mix of all of their hits songs, this mix includes: Wheel of Fortune, All that she wants, The Sign, Life is a flower, Lucky Love, and beautiful life.3. Cecilia (Ole evenrude mix) This is pertty good. It breathes new life to the original version. This version is more like the 50's where Pink ladies, and T-birds rule the school. Very well done Ace!4. Megamix (long Version)again this features all of their Hits, this version is longer, the song are: Wheel of Fortune, All that she wants, Don't turn around, The Sign, Never gonna say I'm sorry, Life is a flower, Lucky Love.5. C'est La Vie (Always 21) Discomatic remix- Now what would Ace of base be with out a power Euro dance mix? Of course, this remix give new life to the song. Its great!, it had fast beats, hardcore trance for all of our jungle club dancers out there. Its fast, and a sure dance floor stoper.Overall: Buy it: and if you don't like it, C'est la Vie."
Needs only one word to describe it, the word is:Brilliant

"This is possibly the best song that I have ever heard by Ace of Base.Sure there has been other great songs, but I immediately fell in love with C'est La Vie(Always 21) ever since my first listen to this beautiful song.I enjoy to beautiful voice that Jenny has, but the best part of the song was Linn's solo. I think that the song is absolutely magnificent, and Ace of Base should have more songs like this.I also think that they should have the European songs come out in the United States too."

""C'est La Vie (Always 21)" is a first single from Ace of Base in Europe since their overwhelmingly successful "Always Have, Always Will." Once again, Ace of Base have turned to their Mowtwon influences, and have nailed down the sound and harmonies with perfectly adjusted vocals and cleverly composed compositions. This quartet was thought by some to be an One-Hit-Wonder band after the release of "All That She Wants" in early 90's. And here we are, 10 years after their formation, Ace of Base is still here, telling us to live our lives to the fullest, putting you in a groove to dance, and making you hum along. "C'est La Vie" has got all the qualities a pop song can have. A must have!"
