Synopsis
Product Description Once again written, produced, and performed almost entirely by Watts himself, Sleeping Fire shares the lyrical honesty and musical adventurousness of its predecessor, with some cool new updates: a fuller rock sound and a more consistent direction. In Sleeping Fire, Watts sees yet another chance to reach people with his music and message: I believe God uses music to transcend everyday life and navigate around our personal walls and our preconceptions. It's a humbling thing. My goal is to make music that, by the grace of God, can cause people to seek and love Him even more. |
CD ReviewsThey don't get better than this. R. Arnold | California | 01/16/2007 (5 out of 5 stars) "Looking back over the years, there are few CDs I've loved so much I couldn't stop listening to them over and over. Most of those rare ones of addictive quality were by people who were either famous or on the brink of fame because of their excellence. Adam Watts' "Sleeping Fire" CD is of that caliber.
Adam's writing ability, including beautifully illustrative lyrics, meticulous musical arrangements and vocal delivery combine to create, in my opinion, a classic CD. Adam is a Christian, and his work is obviously inspired. He writes about the struggles we go through in life. They are songs all people can relate to, so those who are not Christians will be drawn in and not alienated because it's not typical "Christian music." Adam defines the conflicts Christians (at least honest ones) young and old, experience as we live our lives and this is done in a way that the songs could easily get secular airtime and it would be perfectly fine. I predict that Adam and his band of Rodriguez brothers will become extremely well-known pretty soon. If that does not happen, the world has crummy taste." |
