They get better with every album...

"Die ?rzte are up there among my favorite bands. At first it was simply because they were performing in German and I enjoyed their sound more than other German bands (like Rammstein or Die Toten Hosen that seemed to take themselves too seriously), but the more I learn about them and the more of their music that I hear, the more I realize what a great band they are--regardless of what language they sing in. "Fun-Punk" really is the best way to describe their music. So often their lyrics are complete nonsense, but it's clear to see that they still love what they're doing--playing good, fun music. That's why they're still at it after 20+ years and especially since Rod took over as bassist, they just keep getting better and better.
Although Ger?usch has as many silly songs as ever (Pro-Zombie, Piercing, Der Tag, Unrockbar, etc.) Die ?rzte have been working in more politics over the years. Whether you speak German or not, the music to songs like "Deine Schuld" (my personal favorite) is bound to get you moving--and if you understand what they're saying, even better. All the greats put out a double album, and after all the years, Die ?rzte are a band to pull it off. I love all the songs on this cd. They're fun, upbeat and have a great sound. Plus, die ?rzte are just a great band worth supporting--they do it cuz they love it. They certainly make a nice return, but they're not in it for the profits. They avoid the burn-protection, trusting that if they put a good enough product out there, you'll want to buy it, and they don't seem too burnt out if you do burn it...It is a great cd and worth the purchase. (and if you get a chance to see the video for "Die kl?gsten M?nner der Welt," don't pass it up--awesome!)"
