CD ReviewsGreat music! Kerouac | Rio de Janeiro, Brasil | 11/09/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "This is an excellent CD, it includes the entire Ahmad Jamal at the Pershing: "But Not For Me" (8 tunes), plus other 7 performances at the Spotlite Club, in Washington D.C., in the same year (1958). The interaction of Jamal, Crosby (bass) and Fournier (drums) is amazing. Jamal at the piano is just perfect!
The "background sounds" are not a problem, we are talking about live recordings. So these eventual sounds give you the impression that you are realy at the Pershing or at the Spotlite Club. Real live listening!" |
