"I'd never heard Atkins; I'd only seen his name on the credits and a brief bit of him on VH1 ("I left Judas Priest because I didn't think it was going anywhere.") It was certainly entertaining to hear him. He doesn't have Halford's range or shrieks, but he certainly has the pipes; if I had to make an estimate, I'd say he's 80% of the singer Halford is. I will caution, however: you probably won't find yourself preferring his versions over the Halford originals."
