CD Reviews

Underrated classic!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"The weakest song on this CD, to me, is "Sweet Sixteen" (and it's not really a bad song). What I'm trying to say is there really isn't a sub par cut on this CD. This CD doesn't get the recognition, love, respect and glory of other Al Green albums released around the same era, but it's just as good as "Call Me", "I'm Still In Love With You" and "Let's Stay Together". Al even experiments with an alternative; almost avant-garde sounding song in "Beware" (Great!). Any Al Green fan should have this CD in their collection. It will not disappoint!"
Livin' With Green

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Al Green has the amazing ability to mix religious sounds with the secular and the two sounds perfectly mesh on Livin' For You. "Free At Last", "Livin' For You", "Home Again", "So Good To Be Here" and "Beware" take on dual meanings. They could either be about the love of a woman or of God. "Let's Get Married" was the album's single and is a stirring song. Livin' For You is an underrated album in Al Green's catalog and is definitely worth a listen."
Good for Green but not his best

"I've listen to this album many, many times but no tracks really stand out like his other work. It's not a bad album but I would recommend Call Me, Let's Stay Togeather or Still in Love With yu first"
