"Back in the 60's my co-workers and I would sing these song all day long. We know the word by heart. I've been looking for his cds to replace my all tapes. I had no luck in finding them. When I found this on my webtv I flipped. There is no greater singer of love songs as Al Martino. These songs bring back some treasured memories. There is no greater singer of love songs than Al Martino."

"A great collection of Al's music. Some easy to find and others only if you have the albums.
I love Al's songs. The reason I love this is because you get some of the harder to find songs on this CD. Sausalito, The Door To the Sun etc. I love hearing this CD and don't forget Speak Softly Love from every ones favorite movie: The Godfather.
Sound quality is also top notch.
A great mix of songs!

"From the time I was a little girl, the voice of Al Martino has been my favorite. Spanish Eyes, Here in my Heart and Volare bring tears to my eyes. I had the pleasure of seeing Al live last summer and haven't stopped listening to him since. This is an excellent collection from a very excellent singer. He's the best."
Now THIS is great music--BRAVO, AL MARTINO !!!

"I Love You Because is an album of magnificent love songs all performed by the great Al Martino. Al's voice has true operatic qualities and he sings so well on this album; I'm really impressed. In addition, the quality of the sound on this CD is excellent and I like that artwork, too.
The CD begins with Al Martino doing great justice to "Here In My Heart;" this has Al squarely front and center--right where he belongs! "I Love You Because" is very easy on the ear and the countrified arrangement works wonders for this ballad. Al never skips a beat and his excellent diction bolsters his performance even more--great! "Painted, Tainted Rose" charms me with its beauty; the piano is used very well and the music fits in perfectly with Al's vocals.
"Living A Lie" is definitely easy on the ear; "Living A Lie" has a fantastic arrangement that uses the piano and the strings well as Al Martino sings this to perfection--and beyond! The backup singers harmonize faultlessly--not that Al truly needed it; but they do sound good anyway. "Tears And Roses" is another charmer ballad even though the lyrics aren't exactly all that happy; this torch song has Al singing at his very best. "Always Together" is very pretty; and "We Could" has Al Martino singing with yet another very lush musical arrangement.
"Spanish Eyes" features Al in the spotlight; this wonderful ballad never sounded better than when Al delivers it here with so much genuine passion. I love it! "Think I'll Go Somewhere and Cry Myself To Sleep" uses the strings to great advantage and Al never lets go of a superfluous note. The percussion and guitar work enhance this number all the more, too. Listen also for the very poignant and memorable "Auf Wiederseh'n." "Auf Wiederseh'n" is a major highlight of this album; Al sounds terrific and I think you'll like this ballad if you haven't heard it before.
"More Than The Eye Can See" has excellent brass in the arrangement as Al does this one up right--I'm very impressed. "More Than The Eye Can See" gets a very sensitive treatment by Al Martino and the musicians remain in the background. The musicians never steal the show away from Al--and that's very good. "Love Is Blue" uses great keyboard work to bolster the music for this ballad; Al sings this wonderfully and it's another major highlight of this CD.
"Can't Help Falling In Love" was always one of my very favorite love songs; and of course when Al Martino sings this number he delves deep into this ballad to make it sound completely fresh and new. "Speak Softly Love" from "The Godfather" sounds extra special in Al's capable hands; and how's about that piano playing? In addition, the album ends very nicely with Al Martino performing "Volare." "Volare" shimmers brighter than silver and gold together. Al's modernized take on "Volare" works very well and it just may leave you wanting more!
Al Martino always strives to please his adoring fans; and I think this album more than proves that he knows how to accomplish his mission. He still sings well to this day; catch him in concert if you can! This is a must-have for fans of the great Al Martino; and anyone who enjoys great love songs would do well to add this album to their collections.
