CD Reviews

Expressive distinctive vocals and sparkling instrumentals

"Maria Anthony Rumple@aol.com Aug1999 Alastair McDonald is one of the finest Scots singers of any generation. The songs on this recording range from sensitive ballads and evocative love songs to humorous clever pieces and rousing martial ballads. His guitar and banjo accompaniment are flawless, and the arrangements are always perfectly apprropriate. He has the ability to use his voice in brilliant interpretation of each song. Alastair McDonald has a large catalog of recordings in a variety of styles, and this is one of the best(along with Velvet and Steel and Honest Poverty, it truly captures the essence of Scottish sing)."
WONDERFUL

"I bought the album for one song only, and ended up loving the entire disc. A must have for those who appreciate classic folk in the truest sense."
A must for McDonalds

"As a great, great, great grandson of Duncan McDonald of Glencoe this album is very special. Our family loves James Taylor...and the feeling of the works of the two artists is very similar. I highly recommend this album."
