CD ReviewsSipiagin shines again! Eric Siereveld | Cincinnati, OH | 06/15/2006 (5 out of 5 stars) "Talk about cutting loose! Alex Sipiagin and crew pull out all the stops on this one. The cast on this album is similar to his first Criss Cross release, with the addition of Dave Binney (a great alto saxophinist) and replacing Tain Watts on drums is Gene Jackson.
This recording has a little bit of everything. From bop to free to latin. In my opinion Sonhando Com o Meu Primiero Amor is the best cut, but don't miss Good Morning. Every tune on this album is a gem, and not to be missed. The whole group is in focus with one another. Chris Potter constantly impresses me, Dave Kikoski is always first rate (especially on Fender Rhodes here), and Alex Sipiagin is emerging as one of the premier trumpet voices of his generation.
