The Coop's MCA Years

"The time that Alice Cooper spent with record label MCA was once of recovering lost ground and reclaiming his position as King of Shock Rock.He recorded two albums(CONSTRICTOR,RAISE YOUR FIST AND YELL)and staged two killer tours to support them;sounding heavier than any album since WELCOME TO MY NIGHTMARE.PRINCE OF DARKNESS is an excellent summation of this period.Guitarist muscleman Kane Roberts was an excellent foil for Alice during the MCA years;the proof of this can be heard on tracks like FREEDOM, PRINCE OF DARKNESS,and TEENAGE FRANKENSTEIN.I have only two gripes with this album:1)electro-drums on some of the tracks;and 2)the abscence of such tracks as NOT THAT KINDA LOVE,CHOP CHOP CHOP/GAIL,THE GREAT AMERICAN SUCCESS STORY,and GIVE THE RADIO BACK.All in all,a good album if you want to start of with a general overview of the "comeback" years."
