"Alice Russel was performing lots during the years with the The Quantic Soul Orchestra where ive heard of her. this album is a sort of collection of her songs made during that time. but dont let it fool you. this is not some backsinger's trying to make it album but a great one, containing piece after piece of beautiful songs. Alice Russel definitely knows her way of singing from the depthes of black 70s soul and the friends helping here in there are making this album into an amazing, touching and soulful thing."

"Alice's voice will blow you away. Her range, richness, power and fluidity combine with a real and gritty delivery in some songs, a rarified songbird purity in others. It's hard to characterize her style but I keep hearing, soul, jazz blues. I think it's her songs themselves that put her beyond a category. They are fresh, funny at times, highly original, and you want to sing along to them immediately. No two songs are alike in her repertoire, which is amazing considering she writes the songs as well as sings them. This CD was recommended to me last summer at a wonderful little CD shop in St. Tropez named Rapsodie (go visit). I go there every summer and buy approx 10 CDs based on their recommendations (and the sample tracks they play for me). This is the best discovery yet, out of many many "wins." Alice's next CD "My Favorite Letters" is, amazingly, even better than this one. Buy them both and play them for everyone you know. We need to get her stateside for some shows."

"I remember looking at this review online on www.dustygroove.com. so i logged on to another website to hear the songs. i was blown away by what i heard. i thought by hearing her voice that she was a black woman. but when I logged on to her website and saw her picture. i was like What a white girl. But she's from Britain or London. Over seas they dont see Soul music as "Black Music". They see Soul Music as just music. Over there you might see a black person sing heavy metal. The US is the only country that thinks in the "BOX". But I love this CD and that the fact she's a white girl that sings like a black woman is awesome. Love it, love it, love it!!!!!! Buy it. you can log on to www.groovedis.com or Tru-thoughts.com to listen if you dont believe me."

"I had heard the velevet voice of Alice Russell on other releases but never took the time to check out her own work. That was a big mistake on my part. I am completely seduced. I look forward to hearing all her CD's"
