"Contrary to the title, Alien Skin's debut CD is a serene and peaceful journey through mellow and surreal soundscapes. Doomsday may be a metaphor for the introverted lyrics and mood of the songs as a whole. If sad songs of longing and despair are your thing, then you will love this. The vocals are very similar to Depeche Mode's Martin Gore and the songs more than borrow the sound style of Mr. Gores first solo EP. This is a very good thing depending on wether you are a fan of that classic disc. The standout tracks on this release are "Saviour" and "It doesn't matter". Listen to those two tracks and you will get a good idea of the potential this promisisng new artist has. In closing, if you're a fan of romantic or gothic synthpop, I recommend you pick this disc up."
Definitely Go with Doomsday!

"The album title and CD cover image establishes the mood; the wistful songs complete the experience. I found this to be a collection of tracks that flow themetically in atmosphere, pace and lyrical content. From 'The Outer Limits' to the finale 'Alien Skin' these songs succeeded in placing me in a very definite mind space. Expect to be transported to another dimension if you sit back and listen to this album from beginning to end. The smooth vocal delivery adds to the melancholy and the electronics are both beautifully minimal and layered.
Songs like 'Razor Arms', 'For Always' and 'Gloomy Sunday' are chilled pieces of dark bedsit listening. 'Saviour' is a strong melodic tune that will draw you close immediately; the eponymous 'Alien Skin' with a female voice repeating the phrase 'the stranger within, alien skin' is a cold piece of spacey atmosphere building to an ethereal climax.
I highly recommend this CD if you enjoy dark atmospheric and melancholic moods in your electronic music, replete with strong lyrical tunes that will remain in your head."
