End thoughts: 2ND album by Alizee, ends up with same grade as her first CD. However there is an overall improvement on this album sound. If not for a weak few tracks ending this album, it would've scored higher. As this CD completely tanks after Hey Amigo and hurts its point total. Up till after that track this CD is just about perfect."
Warm, Subtle, Sweet, Delightful...A Wonderful Follow-Up Albu

"`Mes Courants Electriques' - What a wonderful follow up Album to 'Gourmandises'(2000). The Music on this Album is more developed... Yet, it has not lost absolutely anything from her beautiful, spellbinding debut album `Gourmandises' - In fact - this album is deeper - more eerie - enchanting. Alizée's voice is still as sophisticated, it's sweet, it's sultry, it's sexy - Her image of innocence still wins over your heart. And there's just something about her that (makes her) and the music - so undeniably sexy - enchanting, warm like her `electric currents' ^^, subtle - completely different to anything you've heard before and in what you think might be a 'Pop Album' - It comes through in her songs. She draws you in, and once your there - you cannot help but love these songs or the album: She's Got You:0)
The songs are almost impossible not to think of or get out of your head once you've heard the album. And you'll see...you'll pick out particular ones which become you're favorites! Still, you'll love all of them. And you'll want to listen to the songs often - and will, for many many years to come... Because I don't know how she does it or how that magic of Mylène Farmer and Laurent Boutonnat make albums special ...but the music gets you -it just never becomes old.
They're just beautiful Pop Songs, simply put.
So if you want to know what you're getting with Mes Courants Electriques - It's an album which is, in essence, is actually just delightfully European in its beauty. It's Euro Pop: Mesmerizing; Spellbinding, Beautiful, Melodic, Lovely, Mystical, Eerie, Captivates, Soothing, Gentle, it will Delight you, Hypnotize you. It's almost addictive. It takes you to a wonderful place where... well...only Alizèe speaks that language which we all know as 'Language of Love' :0) You will fall in Love with it and you want to be there with her. It's music, that, regardless of what language you speak or even if you don't understand a word of French...transcends culture and just makes you happy...I still listen to this Album so so many years on. Get it - it's wonderful and you won't regret it... Get them all!:0)

Overall: This is my favorite Alizée album, and one of my favorite CDs of all time! I think the material is stronger than her first effort, and she definitely grew as a singer and performer. I know many people aren't as fond of her ballads, but I actually like them better than her fast songs! Her voice is beautiful, strong, and mature, and those qualities are highlighted in the mellower tracks. All in all, this CD is a must-buy!"
