"I had never heard of Altramar or Dorian Records before, but this cd had me incredulous, marveling at the gorgeousness of this cd's music. You will not need any other medieval chant music after listening to this cd. It includes male and female voices singing together and instrumentals. This mode of music can sometimes seem repetitive, but that is a small matter. The first track makes you leave the contemporary world, and enter a more contemplative, spare universe in which one's relationship to a supreme being is logically the most important thing in life. This is music to ponder the history of life by. Other cds give us music to party to, to dance to, to clean the house to. But this cd is for the most sublime and uplifted moments. The voices are strong and real, and the instruments sound realistically of the period. All are to be commended who brought this cd into existence. It is odd how the true jewels of life sparkle from hidden places -- you won't find this cd on a bestseller rack, but its effect on your mind and ears will last much longer than the latest empty pop sensation that sells a million records. You will probably never find this cd in a resell situation on an internet auction because once you've listened to it, you'll never give it up."
