"Mexican bolero and ranchera singer Amalia Mendoza, was known as "La Tariacuri", because at early stages of her singing career she co-founded with brothers and sisters what was known as "EL TRIO TARIACURI", this trio was very popular in the late 40's and early 50's. Later, around 1954, Amalia decided to pursue a solo singing career which was an instant success. She was immediately signed by RCA Victor Mexicana and also became a television and movie star. Her singing style, her voice were captivating and its difficult for me to recall any other female singer who would inject such emotions and feelings when singing romantic boleros and other songs. Her interpretation of Emma Elena Valdelamar's classic bolero "MUCHO CORAZON", will forever linger in my memory, as tears rolled down her cheeks as she was singing this beautiful tune, who in my opinion was mastered by only two "Hall of Fame" artists, Mexico's Amalia Mendoza and Cuba's Beny More. I strongly recommend this CD by the immortal Amalia Mendoza!"
