"I own about a dozen Amália CDs and this is my favorite. This is "Fado" music: songs that exist only in the Lisbon area of Portugal. No other music quite like it, and nobody does them better than Amália. All music lovers should mourn her recent passing."
Irreplaceable

"The Great, The Only One of such stature in her small country, died today, October 6, 1999. She was 79. She'll be buried Friday, Oct.8, but word is that after the general election scheduled for Sunday, arrangements will be made for her body to be moved to the Jerónimos Monastery, burial place of famous Portuguese like Vasco da Gama and Luiz de Camões, three of whose poems she sang."
