"This album rocked my expectations. We've all heard Amber's slew of dance crazy anthems, every compilation a year or two ago had one or another. She was inescapable. And her lyrics seemed very trite.
Amber has...well, grown up. It seems that way, at least. She still talks about love and loss, but who doesn't? Her music is less remixable, even though people will do it anyway. Her titles are a bit more mature, and her themes are as well. The music is darker, and more enlightening. It showcases her softer voice perfectly. I love this album.
The highlights are You move Me, Sacrificial Lamb, Private War...
Really listen to everything, it's great.
She lost a star for the lyrical monotony though. While the themes and lyrics are matured and interesting, you kinda get tired of hearing how she's been screwed over by men. Oh well, can't have it all. Still a GREAT album!"
GREAT CD

"I DONT CARE THAT AMBER'S NEW ALBUM IS NOT DANCE ORIENTED--THAT'S WHAT REMIXES ARE FOR. THERE ARE SOME BEAUTIFUL SONGS HERE. AND AMBER'S VOCALS HAVE NEVER SOUNDED BETTER."
Not Just a Dance Diva anymore - just pure Diva

"On her latest album, produced and released through her new label JMCA - AMBER does once again what she is meant to do...release an album that grows on you with each passing play!
From the opening track with it's middle eastern influence, right down to the "perfect for pop radio" song JUST LIKE THAT, she creates the new sounds of music that are so desperately missing in today's musical world.
MY KIND OF WORLD is indeed, a top notch, first out the door release for Miss Amber, she knows how to write the songs, get them produced, and even takes her mother, her mother's partner (who is also her producer and mixer Wolfram), and her sister on this DIVINE musical journey.
To hear the songs, WHEN A LOVE GROWS COLD, CITY OF PAIN, SACRIFICIAL LAMB, and VOODOO is to make you realize that this very independant woman is more than ready to take on the pop music world of top 40 radio.
Her voice is stronger than any female singer in the top 40 today, she can sing a range from down and dirty, gritty vocals to soaring in the clouds like an angel, with just a touch of jazz scat to please and compliment any song.
The first single YOU MOVE ME, of course is club ready right from the start, just to please her dance fans, and establish the cd, this was/is the logical choice of first release...but the best is yet to come.
Congrats to Miss Amber and her family - they've created musically one of the best cd's of 2004 and 2005..."

"Amber is back! and I personally welcome her, with her new sound and musical direction, IT is definelty something that should be played on radio.I am so bored with Radio lately everything is the same.
First off Amber is now an independent Artist and it shows in her music that she wanted to focus on deep and a little darker edge to her music.
My personal favorites are SACRAFICAL LAMB! Wow what an awesome song! Her voice sounds amazing, hopefully the next single!
City of Pain, beautifuly tragic, ballad.Very original lyrics.
Voodoo Sexy spellcasting song! electric guitar sounds great.
You move me(first single) Awesome beats, catchy great to "move" to =). YOUR KIND OF WORLD, beautiful ballad.
JUST LIKE THAT, great Dance song.
The Album is great over all! no fillers.Defintely something worth getting.

""You will be very astounded," Amber sings at the start of the killer track Sacrificial Lamb from her brand new album "My Kind of World ." And you WILL be ! Amber's first release from her very own independent label JMCA Enterprises is HOT ! Known best for the long-lived chart topping dance hits such as "This Is Your Night," "Sexual," "Above the Clouds" and "Love One Another", Amber sets out to prove she's more than just a diva, she's a true Woman of Rock ! And she proves that and much much more.
Opening with a lush mysterious vibe on " Crucified Solitude," the new album features a confident, head-strong, vocal powerhouse of a lady , who rocks thru tracks like the anthem "Sacrificial Lamb", sings soulfully in the haunting "City of Pain," is vulnerable in "Same Old Paradise" and goes completely wild in the insanity that is "Voodoo."
Amber proves she can "out-Celine " Celine Dion, she can belt them out like Taylor Dayne, she can rock as hard as Amy Lee and she can warm your soul like Mariah Carey. Refusing to get lumped in with so many of today's one hit wonders and perky dance divas, this woman lets it all loose on her new album and the results will blow you away !"
