"During the Golden Age of British dance bands it was the ultimate accolade for a musician to be asked to join Ambrose. Not only was his band the best there was, but he employed the top arrangers, and was a superb interpreter of a score. He also had a good ear for girl singers, and this compilation features five of the best, plus the little-heard Rhythm Sisters. It's a delightful trip back in time, to an age when song-writers crafted lyrics the public could relate to, and singers enunciated them intelligibly.
