CD ReviewsAmir Baghiri-Time 05/05/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "reviewDigging deeper into Amir's back catalog reveals more gems... timearrow enters on darkly mysterious vapors, textural activities and throbbing tribal drums which thunder through the organic mistiness. Strangely, a crazed xylophonist seems to dwell at the entryway to the murky didge-laced depths of black hole(8:26), switching to percussion thankfully. The chiming sequences of killing time (psalm 90) are soon pepped up by a perkier almost-dancefloor rhythm. Swirling drones with vague stormcloud-on-the-horizon menace, soon yield to a more alien/overt degree of electronics, sounding like waves of electronic interference, yet strangely appealing and not dissonant at all. From this inky blackness emerges fractal rhythms - percolating rapid-fire fuzz-tones, surrounded by whistling synths and other strange noises. The beats never dominate the song, preferring to remain in the shadows. The effect is like an incessant lighting-fast tempo of electrons pulsing within a huge humming machine. Those trancey waves of energy are counterbalanced by the simple, lushly layered ebb-and-flow of cushier memory of lost dimension whose beats are comparatively few and far between... mmmm, seductive! With glacial progress, everything you see is already past (17:14) sloowly fades into earshot, the low breezes bring distant percussion closer, like approaching thunder. For fans of dark or neutral ambient and lovers of deep floating spacemusic with some of those ethno-tribal elements is an album to savor and explore many times over. Lay back and tap into these Abstract & Deep Dimensions as they weave their sometimes sinister, sometimes enchanting spells on you."
