Album DescriptionScottish singer/songwriter Amy Duncan possesses a pure and clear voice, which she applies to her unusually haunting melodies. Duncan says it best when describing her music: "I used to mainly play the double bass, and have my songs ticking along beside. Recently I decided to make this my priority. I'm much happier that way ... so I spend all my time writing, recording, and gigging, and sometimes painting. All that when I'm not spending time with my wee boy Finn. I still do play bass though ... mostly on my own recordings. I'm motivated by transformation, and the knowledge that I am not the emotions that sometimes overwhelm and make me forget. For me, life is about being true to the spirit that I am, shedding unnecessary layers, becoming clearer ... that I may be all I can be. It's about following my heart, through death to life. My songs are a way of communicating with myself and the world around me. They have been like friends through difficult times. They show me aspects of myself I couldn't see otherwise, like mirrors of the soul."
