Album DescriptionThree years in the waiting, Rubric is proud to present a co-release with Boston's Op Pop Pop label (formerly Sonic Bubblegum). Rock Proper is the sophomore release from post/prog rockers from Chapel Hill, Analogue. Analogue journeyed to Brooklyn in the winter of 1997 to record Rock Proper at the Rare Book Room. Fully instrumental in the post-Slint vein, Analogue released their debut CD on Sonic Bubblegum AAD in 1996 to indie crit acclaim, grazing the CMJ charts and getting raves in AP, Magnet, Frequency and various zines. They sold out of their 2,000 CD pressing and 500 vinyl. Rubric is handling the CD for this release. Rock Proper continues in the tradition of the Tortoise inspired explosion of the mid-nineties, but the band emphatically emphasizes their southern rock roots and heritage. This is first and foremost a rock album. Rock proper, that is.
