"look if you have any interest in metal in general this album with please you. Tears Have No Name is by far the stand-out track but the rest is equally superior to your common metal band. they have raw talent and orginallity they put to good work on this album. The vocals don't just growl, he has his melodic moments with is a good change of pace, seeing how metal seems to follow In Flames down that road. Overall 5/5, worth every cent."
This is what black metal sounds like in outer space.

"Imagine you're stuck in a spaceship on the bottom of the ocean of some hostile alien world run by horny robots, and you're very angry, morose, solemn, alone, and fidgety all the time. This is the kind of music you would make. Assuming you'd make music. You might just take up knitting instead, for all I know. The songwriting's monotonous at times, emitting that dreaded Every Track Sounds the Same odor. Well, almost. "Tears Have No Name" is one of the best songs I've ever heard...and throughout the album there's some very inventive keyboard work not like anything I've heard in death/black/doom metal before. They've definitely got potential."

"The futuristic vibe they get on this album is outstanding. Intelligence is Sexy is a great song, so is Tears Have No Name and Espirit De Corps is outstanding. Every other song is very solid. The vocals have this vibe that no other band creates, the vocals are nearly alien in nature. If you like metal songs that get into a groove and keep it buy this album. They are kind of, in a weird way, an actualized Voivod for the new century."
Very original band.

"I heard "Tears Have No Name," and thought it was a very badass track, so I decided to buy the album. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the rest of the record. It definitely has its moments (The beginning riffs of "Intelligence is Sexy" comes to mind), but it just was not 100% to my liking. However, that is just because I am not really a black metal fan. I've been trying to explore more into the genre, and I enjoy some things here and there (The aforementioned THNN), but as a whole, I just can't seem to get into it. Anyway, if you are looking for something original, check this band out. it is definitely not your typical black metal band."
Like nothing you've ever heard

"You could call ...And Oceans industrial melodic blackened metal... but then you'd be totally missing the point. On AMGOD they toss out the rulebook for creating heavy music and forge ahead into the sonic unknown while keeping excellent and infectious songwriting remains on their side. The electronica elements are there but are hardly overwhelming. ...And Oceans focuses more on songs than most bands of their ilk, as each track on here is a standout. Basically, if you enjoy metal, this is an album you should make a point hear."
