Challenging but Rewarding Album

"Leave it to Andi Sexgang to do something different. God on a Rope, one of Andi's spoken word albums, is not the first Sex Gang Children/Andi Sexgang albums I would recommend to new collectors. In fact, I would probably recommend purchasing God on a Rope last. Don't get me wrong: this is an impressive album put together by a very literate, articulate, and intelligent artist. God on a Rope is, nonetheless, challenging and not like anything you've heard before. If you're just getting into Sex Gang Children/Andi Sexgang, pick up Andi's beautiful, sensitively rendered Last of England, another album comprised of instrumental and spoken word tracks. Once you've worked your way through Andi's canon and gotten an idea of just how weird and diverse this guy's material is, you'll be able to appreciate God on a Rope."
