"Made in JAP in 2000, Serial# UICE-1001, Playing Time 72:17The name might be unfamiliar to you, but he's from the province of Quebec in Canada, where he's a big name, and he's REALLY HUGE in Japan. This CD lifts tracks from a few of the albums he released between 1981 (Left Turn) and 1999 (Juliette Pomerleau, a french-canadian TV show). André Gagnon has recorded more than 30 albums since the mid-60s. The music presented here is instrumental, generally performed only the grand piano , but sometimes accompanied by strings and/or flute. The material is calm and relaxing, from a classical background; you can almost picture snowflakes falling, or a sunset reflecting on a lake... If you like great but quiet piano music, this is a treat, like most of his albums. I'm still trying to understand how a single CD that only covers 8 of his 30+ albums can do justice to such a career as his?"
