His richly layered recordings, full of unexpected twists and turns, were spiked with playful experiments in tape manipulation and featured exotic instruments like the Ondes Martenot and the musical saw. His evocative pieces echo Nino Rota, one of his contemporaries. _La Musique Qui Fait Popp_ features 21 elegant vignettes from 1952-1965 faithfully recreated by the Dutch Metropole Orchestra (with a few of the Beau Hunks)."
