From his childhood on the family farm in rural Tuscany to the worldwide stage, Andrea Bocelli has achieved phenomenal success. His singing is only partially the point, and his fame owes much more to the aura of romance and the romantic archetype that's attached to him. Romanza is by far Bocelli's largest success, winning adoration thanks to the swooning vocals and the easy, sometimes lush, always pop-safe instrumental textures and melodies. As far as his opera chops go, Bocelli has won the approval of Pavarotti but likely will not wow enthusiasts. "In my humble opinion, Andrea Bocelli's Romanza compiles, what I consider- besides his DVD at his Italian home town's concert- the very best of Andrea Bocelli. I could hear it over and over without getting tired of listening to Andrea Bocelli's magnificent music.

"This is an extremly wonderful CD. I think one of Bocelli's best. The only caution I would give someone, is I bought a used copy that was supposed to be in very good condition and to say the least it was not. If you are going to buy this CD which is just so beautiful every song, then buy the new copy directly from amazon it's most assuradly worth the price because you truly are getting a wonderful CD."
