Synopsis

Album Description

A collection of love songs, rife with illusion, betrayal, insight and birds. Bob Soper plays a clever fiddle part on "Witches"; Donny Wright a menacing bass on "Two Roads", a tale of adultery. Wright contributes a comic dobro part to "A Hoosier in Paris". "Meditation Song" and "Hualapai Mountain" present serene landscapes in contrast to the psychological chaos of "Farewell Butterfly" and "Daughter of a Drunk". "Broken Feeder" illustrates a woman's courage in persevering through the death of her partner. Elizabeth Nicholson plays harp on "Raining." 18 songs, 46 minutes.

"It's Andrew Calhoun, what can I say? This guy's the real deal. You'll never dance to a Calhoun song but then you won't ever sit up at night thinking about why that Abba song cut to the bone. They each have their place. So pick up this CD, grab a beer, get a fire going and let the man paint a picture of America with that guitar and that voice.
