Texas guitarist Andrew Jones's second solo effort is a smooth, easy glide of mostly mid-tempo modern blues. There are a few special moments here, notably on the title track, which is catchy enough that you'll find yourself singing along by the second chorus. "Shuffle On," an instrumental, shuffles along quite nicely, "Make Some Changes" has a nice groove, and "Soul Serenade" has just enough of a country inflection to be appealing rather than annoying. However, some of Watch What You Say sparks without quite catching fire; this disc could have done with a touch less production and a bit more energy. Sure, a smooth ride in a nice car is as comfortable as can be, but sometimes you want to feel the potholes--just so you know you're moving. --Genevieve Williams
