This is a great recording - Michael Crawford is amazing with his smooth strong voice. Sarah Brightman isn't my favorite soprano, but her high range is clear and impressive; instrumental and vocal pop opera to provide many hours of listening enjoyment!

A Great Box Set!

"I purchased this box set because I wanted to hear the original performers...I was not disappointed! The music is beautiful and clear and the performers are superb.
The packaging is nice and includes a libretto (a little booklet with all the lyrics and dialogue).
The only fault with this set is that Sarah Brightman's voice is hard to make out at times so you have to adjust the volume a bit.
What I like about this original cast recording compared to the soundtrack of the movie (which I also purchased) is that this set only contains the songs and not much dialogue.
All in all, I think this is a great addition for fans of musicals, or for anyone who wants to be swept away by the heavenly voice of Michael Crawford for an hour or two!"
Phantom is great

"I bought the full CD of Phantom of the Opera, original cast, and it is great. Have been enjoying it frequently. Two full CD's of all of the songs. Price was right!"
The first but not the best

"Even though graced by the original cast, there is a muffled quality to the recording. Perhaps a later recording provides the crispness and clarity the score deserves."
