"In January 2006, Angela Bofill suffered a stroke. This live CD was released shortly thereafter and proceeds from its sale will be used to pay for Ms. Bofill's hospitalization, therapy and treatment. As a long-time fan who would always go to see Ms. Bofill in concert whenever possible I can truly say that she is a great and amazing performer worthy of far greater recognition and acclaim. The live versions of "Tonight I Give In", "Break It To Me Gently", "Still In Love" and "You Should Know By Now" are your reasons for buying this great CD."
Sending Love and Healing to Angie

"Angie, this is the dorky 16-year old skinny white kid who fell in love with your music back in the late 70's. Remember the funny little blue French Renault LeCar who followed your limo from WLUM downtown to Radio Doctors Records in Milwaukee in 1982? Well, that was me.
When I heard you had multiple strokes, my heard nearly sank. Your music helped me survive AIDS in the 90's and throat cancer last year. So, I'm sending you all of my healing powers so that the world may once again hear your beautiful voice. Angie, get well. We miss you and love you.

"First, I was happy to see this somewhat reclusive release available here on Amazon after being told that it was only available from another site. All proceeds from this recording go directly to Angela, who in this live performance sounds as vibrant and earthy as ever. I was a little disapointed when I saw that the track listing for this CD, recorded in 2004, only concentrated on her early days while she was signed to Arista Records(and without the inclusion of her signature song "I Try") but what I learned was this recording purposely centered around the songs that can still be heard today on an almost daily basis in Manilla. That said, Angela handles the songs with great depth and clarity throughout. The standouts (IMO) are "Let Me Be The One", "Tonight I Give In" "Still In Love" and "Angel Of The Night". If you are a fan, this is a must have. I'm praying for you Angela...With all the hype placed on these talentless singers of today, the world is in desperate need your pure and honest vocals...that shine even better "Live""

"As a long time fan of Angela Bofill who has seen her whenever the chance presented itself during the 70s and 80s, I was thrilled to find this live recording. The opening track, Let Me be the One, and the last song, Angel of the Night, are the best. Everything else is fabulous too. Her voice has remained superlative throughout the years. I hope and pray for the recovery of this most talented and soulful woman."
