"This album differs from the other "No Exit" by the inclusion of the vastly superior version of Ivory Stairs. This version rocks, it doesn't sway like the version on "Dark Room". Geez, Angel City starves in America and a hack like Madonna is considered a genius. Taste crimes like this should be felonies in the criminal code."

"this group was good back in the early ac/dc days when rose tattoo was still around, now, the music seems dated, good for old memories from late 70's and early (very early) 80's, i liked the songs ''ivory stairs'' and ''mr. damage'', problem was, they went under the name ''angel city'' in the US , causing plenty of confusion, '' doc neeson'' was a great front man and the brewster brothers played it straight with good results, bigger in australia (homeland) than they ever were here"

No exit and no escape

"Straight ahead rock wthat grabs you throat and won't let go. This is really pubrock with brains behind it, as opposed to pub rock with no brains at all. doc Neeson and his band of grizzled Australians pummel the place with memorable riff after memorable riff. It's the combination of neesons unique vocals and the riffs that make this album with the rhythm section plugging in and laying the foundations for the shadings of the top end of the mix.



Comparing this act to AC/DC is basically a necessity as the two bands were around the Australian scene at a similar time and they both rely on riffs for the bedrock of their reason to be. But to make the point a bit finer, it is fair to say that in 1979 when this record was released Bon Scotts boys probably didn't have the introspection or the desire to get one that The Angels show on tunes such as After Dark nor the disturbingly strange twists of tracks such as Mr Damage. This is a hard rock/metal hybrid with a lesser guitar attack than the Young brothers provide but without the juvenile double entendre which Bon could spend too much time on.



Any fan of AC/DC really NEEDS this. Other points of reference would include Accept around the time of Restless and Wild and Balls to the Wall as the sonic attack is likewise heads down and committed, though Accepar were far more 'metal'.



I used to slap this record on while working out on my punching bag, sometihng about it just helps to pump you up especially the aforementioned Mr Damage, Shadow Boxer and the title track No Exit.



An album that can be put on, cranked up and played the whole way through."
