Synopsis
Product Description Bridge of Sighs' Angry Clouds CD: Featuring 10 new songs, including a 21st century version of the Robin Trower Classic "Day of the Eagle." This is a must have disc for any true Album Rock fan! Best listened to in its entirety with a glass of wine in hand and your stereo cranked up. Let BOS take you on a journey and experience wars on distant shores, love stories, and lost loved ones. BRIDGE OF SIGHS is a Los Angeles-based band featuring Trent Stroh, Tom Neely, and Mike Taylor. After several years of touring, BOS evolved into one of Hollywood's most unique original bands. BOS initially began as a Robin Trower Revival Band in 2002, but now focuses on its own writings inspired by the group's diverse musical backgrounds, among 1 re-make of a Trower classic. The band was fortunate to have Trower's very own Bill Lordan in the band in 03' & 04'. Lordan's influence is still present in the BOS' motto of evolution and not duplication! Trent Stroh, (Bass & Vocals) has performed with numerous world class artists such as Eddie Money, Nancy Sinatra, America & Robert Palmer to name a few. Stroh is considered by many to be one of the top singing bass players on the LA music scene today. Trent brings the pop element to BOS' writing and the voice to back it up. Tom Neely, (Guitar) has his roots in riff based blues hard rock of the 70's era. All of BOS' songs are the culmination of Neely's "riff factory" as the band calls it. Neely also received Los Angeles' Indie Rock Guitarist of the year in 2004. Mike Taylor, (Drums) has played with Robin McCauley, Eric Sardinas & Armand Sabalacco and brings the diverse artillery to the writing trio. From Metal to Jazz, Taylor has played in hundreds of studio sessions in Los Angeles since 2003. Taylor was brought into the band by Stroh to replace the retiring Bill Lordan in 2004. Similar CDs

CD ReviewsSeasoned Power Trio's Powerful Debut John Mizenko | 04/16/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "If you are looking for a three-minute pop tune, go buy another CD. Bridge of Sighs (Tom Neely-guitar, Trent Stroh-bass/vocals, and Mike Taylor-drums) perform on their debut CD as a seasoned power trio that play as a unit and not a manufactured "Pro Tools" session. The interplay between the band members demonstrates that this band is ready to be heard live. The arrangements breathe, and are not constricted to a sub-par radio format. These songs could easily have been edited down to suit the short attention span of today's distracted listeners, but that would be a betrayal of this power trio's roots. Borrowing from classic 70's rock thru modern-day metal, the band explores the outer edges of standard rock grooves showcased by Tom Neely's panache for just the right guitar riff, the textured drumming talents of Mike Taylor and the glue of bassist Trent Stroh to hold it all together. The opening track "Sweet Thing" begins with sultry riff that sets the tone for the whole CD. Bassist Trent Stroh's vocals showcase an impressive range and feel. Not only is he a talented singer his but he is one Los Angeles' "A" bassists and a perfect compliment to the drum explorations of Taylor throughout. The rhythm section of Stroh and Taylor lay out a foundation of rock grooves for guitarist Tom Neely to showcase his soulful guitar tones and melodic excursions. The depth of his classic rock, blues and country influences resonate throughout the disc. The tunes Sweet Thing, Freedom's Stain, Angry Clouds, and Little Brother highlight the diversity rarely heard in these days of formulaic-rock. Another high note, Mojito, a Latin rock instrumental that provides a nice musical interlude to Thinner Than Water that has a great "Grand Funk Railroad" vibe in the chorus. Finally, there is Citron-Ella an eight-minute instrumental meditation to close out the disc that offers no form in the melodic sense but just a relaxing groove/jam to which one can just kick back and zone out. Special note to the modern guitar tones and production talents of Neil Citron that capture the live drama of what this band is all about. Neil's talents and production resume speaks for itself and truly compliments the entire CD. " A return to excellence! S. Sherry | 03/30/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "Bridge of Sighs album Angry Clouds is a return to superior musicianship often lacking in todays music. With heartfelt vocals, in your face guitar riffs and hard driving rhythms, this cohesive trio voices the things we need to hear both lyrically and instrumentally. Angry Clouds does what an album should...it forces you to surrender completely to listening. I raise the white flag!" Great Debut from Bridge of Sighs swlabr | 03/10/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "This LA trio has certainly made a strong debut recording. Great songs, great musicianship(including bassist Trent Stroh's into-the-stratosphere vocals) and great production combine to make a rocking record worthy of anybody's CD collection. Look forward to hearing more from these guys!"
